31 Jul 5 Things I’m Loving Right Now! June 21′
#1 Environ A, C, E Body Oil
I use this body oil day and night during the summertime after my showers. So often we purchase facial skincare filled with protective, active ingredients and ignore the skin on the rest of our body. The blend of vitamins A, C & E in this oil make it the perfect topical multivitamin treatment for the skin from the neck down. It replenishes what the excess daily sun exposure depletes.
#2 Kin Spritz
I love a glass of wine or a cocktail as much as the next person, but sometimes I just want to hang out with friends (or alone with some great music) sans alcohol and drink something more fun than a seltzer with lime. Enter Kin Spritz! My Herbalist Rachelle Robinett told me about these spritzes a year ago and it’s taken me this long to finally try them. I’m hooked. My wine fridge is filled halfway with these colorful cans of liquid bliss. Try one the next time you want to party, but don’t feel like imbibing in booze.
#3 Environ Mela-Prep Lotion
This is a magic product for anyone who develops a melasma mustache during the summertime (my hand is raised). I apply this tonic over the areas of my face where I tend to hyperpigment and it really keeps that uneven pigment down. Plus it’s safe to use in direct sunlight so it can be worn as a day and night treatment beneath a moisturizer. This is one of my personal summertime hero products!
#4 Elta MD Sunscreens
Many of you have known about my obsession with Elta MD’s sunscreens since I was in my 20’s and I’ve converted many of my clients in New York and my Rollingwood studio into devotees as well. Well here is a breakdown of which formulas I use and when I reach for them :
1.) If I’m exercising outside, getting sweaty and can’t have my facial sunscreen stinging my eyes I reach for UV Physical SPF 41. I wear this on my face at the beach too.
2.) My everyday facial sunscreen worn under my makeup is UV Daily SPF 40.
3.) My favorite beach body sunscreen is UV Aero SPF 45.
4.) My everyday body sunscreen on exposed limbs in summer clothes is UV Lotion SPF 30+. This formula hydrates as well as protects!
#5 Environ Super Moisturizer
This is still one of my favorite dry skin remedies. Not all skin becomes oily during the hot summer months. Many of my clients cope with dry, flakey summertime skin caused by the increased sun exposure combined with frequent dips in chlorine and/or salt water. Enter the Environ Super Moisturizer. This is my favorite no frills skin conditioner and I love that it can be safely layered over serums containing active ingredients or worn alone. It also wears beautifully beneath makeup on dry skins. If your skin feels parched – this should be in your skincare wardrobe.
