17 Feb Tools For Thought ~ Spotlight On The Clarisonic Opal
The Clarisonic Opal deserves to be in the spot light this week. By using a sonic “kneading” motion to gently massage the product into the skin, not only does it help improve the circulation around the delicate eye area and decrease puffiness, but it also increases the penetration of serums designed to improve the appearance of visible lines and wrinkles. Including the Clarisonic Opal and any one of several fantastic serums on the market today can help minimize vertical lines above the upper lip and between the eyebrows, crow’s feet around the eyes, and horizontal lines on the forehead. Clarisonic Opal will super charge the impact of your serums which can translate to faster, more visible results.
The Opal is a very user friendly tool. To use, simply apply your serum of choice to the tip. Once turned to the “on” position, apply to the target area in a gentle circular motion. To insure optimum penetration, Opal is designed with a 30 second, “auto off” timer so that you know with confidence the area has been properly treated before moving on to the next.
My favorite places on the face to use the opal are:
- Around the Eyes (great for firming the skin and decreasing puffiness)
- Between the Brows (softens the appearance of harsh lines)
- Across the Forehead (softens the horizontal lines which form there)
- Over Vertical Lines On the Upper Lip (these are commonly called “smoker’s lines” though you don’t need to be a smoker to develop them)
- Over “Puppet” Lines (these are the vertical lines that look like parenthesis around the mouth)
I recommend using the Opal at least once per day, preferably in the morning, to decrease visible puffiness, but no more then two times per day. At Carson Skin Rejuvenation I send my clients home with Environ’s C-Quence Eye Gel to be used around the eyes with the Opal for firming and brightening, and Environ’s Focus Frown Serumfor use over any visible lines around the face to soften their appearance.
Helpful Hint: Remember, “areas” are very defined, and each requires a 30 second treatment- i.e. one eye equals one area, between the eyebrows (where we get those vertical lines that make us look angry when we’re not) is a separate area and so on. After you’ve completed your treatment, clean the tip of the Opal with an alcohol wipe daily to prevent bacteria from building up.
