Follow these 3 Steps To Keep Your Skin From Looking Like Tales From The Crypt This Winter
1.) Gentle Cleansers
It is essential that we clean our pores daily by using a good quality face wash but the summertime face wash that was your friend in July can over-dry your skin in January. Switch to a gentle creamy cleanser if your skin is dry or low foam cleanser if your skin is acne prone.I love Epicuren Apricot Cleanser as a gentle creme option.Or Environ Sebuwash for acne prone skin. (I carry this formula at Carson Skin Rejuvenation)
2.) Exfoliate with a face cloth several times per week rather than using Facial scrubs.
Do we want to exfoliate weekly…YES. Do we want to strip our skin and make it more prone to cold weather induced redness…NO.
Put your facial scrub on the shelf until spring and use a CLEAN face cloth several times per week at night with your facial cleanser to buff away the flakes. No “scrubbing” allowed. After applying your cleanser to your skin, wet your face cloth with warm water and move it in little circles around your skin for 30 to 60 seconds then rinse. Two to three times per week is plenty.
3.) Use a Moisture Serum on cold days/windy days
The same way we bundle up in layers to keep our bodies warm on cold days we need to add an extra layer of protection to our skin. Non-pore clogging formulas of course 🙂
